Cultivarium at ASM Microbe 2024

The team at the Cultivarium booth at ASM Microbe 2024

The Cultivarium team attended ASM Microbe 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia to connect with over 5,000 attendees from around the globe.

Our team was on the ground in Atlanta June 13-17 showcasing our open-access tools to the microbial community. After five days of inspiring sessions and vigorous scientific discussions with 300+ fellow microbiologists, the Cultivarium team walked away with a refreshed sense of purpose in unlocking the potential of novel microbes.

“Many attendees who came up to us were interested in gaining access to databases or computational tools that would help in working with hard-to-grow organisms.” reflected JooHee Choi, PhD, Project Manager at Cultivarium. “People sometimes have things [organisms] in the freezer but they’re not sure how to work with them in the lab.”

Conference highlights included talks on utilizing bacterial genomics for sustainable climate solutions, and AI-based approaches for accelerating microbial research. Program Manager Elise Ledieu-Dherbécourt, PhD, also gave a joint talk with ATCC at the ASM Microbe 2024 Industry & Science Showcase, sharing Cultivarium’s high-throughput approach to onboarding diverse microbes.
